Attic & Second-Floor Containment Remediation in Middletown, NJ

The Problem

During a pre-listing inspection, the homeowners learned that the attic sheathing had widespread mold and that an upstairs storage room under the eaves had growth on its knee walls. The only attic access was through the finished second-floor hallway, so protecting the rest of the house during the work was a priority.

Our Solution

We built a sealed containment path from the front door up the stairs with zipper doors and floor protection, then ran negative air in the attic and storage room. Moldy insulation and knee-wall drywall were bagged and removed, sheathing and rafters were cleaned and encapsulated, and bath fans that vented into the attic were extended to the exterior. All debris was hauled away the same week and clearance results were provided in time for the listing.
