Bathroom Ceiling Mold Removal in Red Bank, NJ
Recurring mold on a bathroom ceiling was traced to an undersized exhaust fan. We remediated the ceiling and fixed the ventilation.
The Problem
Mold kept returning on the ceiling of a busy upstairs bathroom no matter how often it was scrubbed. The paint was peeling and the staining had started to spread toward the hallway. Our inspection found that the existing exhaust fan moved only a fraction of its rated airflow because the duct was crushed in the attic.
Our Solution
We contained the bathroom, removed the damaged ceiling paint and the most heavily affected drywall section, cleaned and treated the ceiling cavity and installed new drywall ready for finishing. The exhaust fan was replaced with a quieter, properly sized unit and new insulated duct to the exterior. The finished ceiling has stayed clean since, as the before and after photos show.
